My energy use decreased, why did my score also decrease? Follow

Generally, if your energy usage goes down, you'd expect to see a rise in your score. If you see the opposite, it could be one of two issues:

  • You've changed some Use Details. For example, say you now have fewer employees working in the same space. Our model will predict how much energy you now need for your lower number of workers. You might be using less energy than last year, but more energy than our model predicts you should for this new number of employees.
  • Your property performs differently in different weather. Say this winter was mild compared to last winter. Our model will predict how much energy you now need for the mild winter.  You might be using less energy than last year, but more energy than our model predicts you should during this mild winter. Therefore, as you are not using less energy than the system predicted, your score will actually lower.
