California Building Energy Use Benchmarking and Public Disclosure Program (Proposed Regulations)

The California Energy Commission has proposed regulations to implement the benchmarking and public disclosure provisions of Assembly Bill 802 (2015). The proposed regulations would require the owners of most commercial and residential buildings larger than 50,000 square feet to report benchmarking information to the Energy Commission by June 1 annually, beginning in 2018 for commercial buildings and in 2019 for residential buildings.
