No, occupancy does not affect your score or any of your metrics. However, your building cannot receive ENERGY STAR Certification unless it is fully operational.
But, it could affect your ability to receive ENERGY STAR certification because there are minimum occupancy requirements for certification for these property types:
- Office/Bank/Courthouse/Financial Center – at least 55% occupancy required
- Hotel - at least 60% occupancy required
- Multifamily – at least 80% occupancy required
- K-12 Schools must operate at least 8 months per year (this is a Property Use Detail for K-12 Schools)
