Yes, however Design recognition is only offered through ENERGY STAR’s Multifamily High Rise Program (www.energystar.gov/mfhr).
While you can use EPA’s Portfolio Manager and Target Finder to assess your design project’s projected energy use and get a predicted 1-100 ENERGY STAR score, recognition for new multifamily properties is done by meeting the requirements of the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes or Multifamily High Rise programs:
- For more information on certifying newly constructed multifamily units in low rise properties through the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes program, visit www.energystar.gov/homes
- For more information on certifying newly constructed multifamily units in high rise properties through the ENERGY STAR Multifamily High Rise program (MFHR), visit www.energystar.gov/mfhr
Use the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction Decision Tree to determine if the units in your project must be certified through the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes program or the ENERGY STAR MFHR program.
