To update a property use with more recent information (because the use of the building has changed over time), you would call POST /propertyUse/(propertyUseId)/useDetails. This maintains the property use history and creates a new record indicating that the use detail has undergone a change.
To correct a mistake/error in an old record, you would call PUT /useDetails/(useDetailsId).
In both cases, refer to characteristics.xsd for the XML request. For example, to update onSiteLaundryFacility for either a revision or correction, an XML example would be the following:
<?xml version=""1.0"" encoding=""UTF-8""?>
<onSiteLaundryFacility xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation=""http://portfoliomanager.energystar.gov/schema/propertyUse/characteristics.xsd"" xmlns:xsi=""http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"" currentAsOf=""2000-01-01"" temporary=""false"">
