How do I reclassify a Property Use incorrectly entered as Data Center? Follow

To reclassify a Property Use incorrectly entered as a Data Center, there are two options:

  • Option 1. Move the Data Center Property Use into the building's main Property Use:
    • Go to the “Details” tab for the facility
    • Click on the buildings main Property Use (ex: Office) to edit the Property Use Details. Select the drop down action “Correct Mistakes”.
      • Add the square footage of the Data Center  to the Gross Floor Area (GFA) of the primary Property Use.
      • Leave the Effective Dates as-is.
      • Click "Save Corrections"
    • If the property's primary Property Use has a revision history showing different GFAs for different points in time, be sure to also add the same square footage to each GFA entry in the revision history so that the square footage appears as part of your building for all points in time. Do not change any of the Effective Dates. Click "Save Use" once more to go back to the "Facility Summary" page.
    • "Delete Use" for the original Data Center Property Use.
  • Option 2: Move the data center property use into a newly-created Office property use:
    • Click on the Data Center Property Use and make a note of the GFA
    • From the Details tab there is an option to “Add Another Type of Use.” Select "Office" and click “Add”
    • Enter the Use Details, using the earliest GFA present in the Data Center Property Use. Do not change the Effective Dates. Click "Save."
    • If the Data Center Property Use had a revision history with changes to its GFA, edit the new Property Use's GFA to match, by selecting “Correct Mistakes" from the Action menu.
    • "Delete Use" for the original Data Center Property Use.
