I'm getting an alert about my IT energy meter. Why? Follow

The likely problem is that the combination of your IT Energy Configuration and your IT Energy Meter type do not result in a score. When you add a Data Center to your property, you are prompted to fill out the Property Use Details for it, and to add an IT Energy Meter associated with this Data Center Property Use.  In order to receive a score you need to be separately metering your IT Energy. If you do not properly align the Use Details and the IT meter, you will receive an alert indicating you do not have an associated meter.

These are the options for the IT Energy Configuration (you can change it from the Details tab, under "Property Uses and Use Details"):

  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Supports Only IT Equipment (Preferred)
  • UPS, including non-IT load less than 10%
  • UPS, including non-IT load greater than 10% - load submetered
  • UPS, including non-IT load greater than 10% - load not submetered
  • Facility has no UPS

Here are the ONLY combinations of "IT Energy Configuration" and "Data Center IT Energy Meter" types that result in an ENERGY STAR Score:

IT Energy Configuration Data Center IT Energy Meter (Meter Type)
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Supports Only IT Equipment (Preferred) Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Output Meter
UPS, including non-IT load less than 10% Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Output Meter
UPS, including non-IT load greater than 10% (non-IT load is submetered and subtracted) Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Output Meter
UPS, including non-IT load greater than 10% - load not submetered Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Input Meter
