What would happen if we send data for the same date range twice? Follow

Once you have uploaded consumption data and have an ID, you can use that ID (by specifying it in the URL) to make edits (PUT) to that specific consumption data. If you make an edit using the ID and send the same dates, it would overwrite the previous data and you would still only have one entry.

If you were to submit new data (POST), even for that same date range, it will create a new consumption ID and you would have overlapping entries.

There are no checks that prevent the creation of gaps or overlaps during data submission.
