How is my Maximum Demand calculated? Follow

To determine you Maximum Demand, we assign each demand entry to a calendar month, based on the last day of the bill. For example, if your bill is Jan 15 - Feb 15 then that bill’s demand will be attributed to February.

In the weeds:

  • If 2 months tie for highest demand, we pick the first one chronologically in the metric year.
  • If one meter has 2 bills/entries that both end in the same month, we pick to larger of the two demand values.
  • If 2 different meters have a tie for highest demand, we pick the first one chronologically in the metric year.
  • If 2 different meters have a tie for highest demand in the same month, we pick the first meter in alphabetical order.
  • If 2 different meters have a tie for highest demand in the same month, and they have the same meter name, we pick the first meter ID in chronological order.

Demand Tracking was added to Portfolio Manager in August 2017.  For more information, see our 2-page guide: How to Track Electric Demand.
